History and Location
Later, in 1896, Thomas Henry Duthie II, a descendant, became the sole owner of the farm Woodbourne and Steenbok Island.
He initiated the surveying and establishment of Woodbourne Township (also known as the Heads Township) near Knysna Heads.
This township laid the groundwork for the area’s development and continues to be significant today
Current Ownership
The Woodbourne Resort as it exists now operates within this historical family estate, which has been owned by the Duthie family for decades. The current owners, John and Sue Duthie, continue this legacy by managing the resort as a private estate focused on a country ambiance with access to Knysna’s amenities.
The resort features family-friendly facilities such as playgrounds, a trampoline, swimming pool, camping, and caravan sites.
